Ready to build further on data privacy - at a company scaling toward global markets?

GoWish is growing fast, and we take our responsibility to users and customers seriously. We're looking for a Data Privacy Specialist to serve as our Data Protection Officer (DPO) and become the driving force behind our global privacy program. You'll be the go-to person for everything data protection: GDPR, CCPA, AI governance, and the security and privacy questions that come with scaling into new markets.

You'll will be part of our Legal, Compliance & HR team, reporting to our Head of Legal, Compliance & HR and collaborate across Product, Engineering, and commercial teams. This role calls for sharp commercial understanding, cross-functional energy, and the ability to turn complexity into clear, actionable compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Build out and continuously improve GoWish's global privacy program — policies, procedures, and governance frameworks

• Serve as DPO and central point of contact for customer security and privacy requests, including DPAs

• Conduct and document privacy assessments (DPIAs, TIAs, cookie compliance, risk registry) and drive timely remediation

• Support on data breach response and data subject rights requests (DSARs, deletion, opt-out)

• Support vendor risk management and onboarding of sub-processors

• Champion responsible AI governance and embed privacy-by-design across product and engineering workflows

• Build a strong privacy culture across the organization through training and stakeholder support

What we’re looking for 🌟

We imagine that you have:

• 2–5 years of hands-on experience in data privacy and compliance, ideally in a consumer-facing company or SaaS environment

• Relevant academic degree with IAPP certification as a plus

• Strong command of GDPR and working knowledge of - or genuine appetite to grow into - CCPA and US privacy regulations

• Experience with or curiosity about AI governance and the privacy implications of emerging technologies

• Practical experience with DPIAs, risk assessments, data processing agreements, and DSARs

• Proven ability to work across legal, technical, and commercial teams - and to get things done

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

• Ability to communicate clearly to all stakeholders

• A collaborative mindset, attention to detail, and willingness to iterate and improve
